A four-day Induction and Orientation Program for the academic year 2022-23 was held for 1st year BPT and MPT students from 27th October 2022 to 31st October 2022. First day started with the registration process. The Formal induction program began with the welcome address by the Principal. The gathering was addressed by the Dean and Director, KGI Dr. Sam Paul Isaac, who welcomed all the freshers and gave them an insight about their future professional life. Further the faculties of Physiotherapy introduced them to the academic curriculum. The rules and regulations of the college, importance of discipline and anti-ragging policies were explained in detail to all the freshers. Some of videos from the alumni of KCPT were played to help freshers understand the future of a Physiotherapist. The current final year batches of both Bachelors and Masters shared their experiences about the college and hostel life with the freshers encouraging them to the new life and assuring that they will always have a helping hand extended towards the freshers.
Post lunch there was a campus tour arranged for all the freshers where the faculties of Physiotherapy took them around the campus and showed all the amenities and facilities available in the campus. This was followed by an interactive session between the freshers, parents, and the faculties of Physiotherapy. The session was led by Dr. Sam Paul Isaac, Dean KCPT. It was an informative session where all the freshers clarified their queries about the curriculum and the parents were satisfactorily ensured about their wards’ safety and security.
The second day of the Induction was a soft skill training session taken by Mr. Deepak Justin, winner of the International Poet of Merit Title. The session was very interactive aiming towards the personality development of the students trying to inculcate the soft skills to deal with the patients and focussed on the team building activities. The day ended with the high tea at 5 PM.
The third day of the Induction 29th October 2022 started at 8.30 AM with the Principal’s interaction with the new students. The freshers’ introduced themselves to the Principal following which the Principal spoke about the scope of Physiotherapy and gave certain cues and pointers to the freshers regarding their study methods. He also emphasized on the importance of practicals in the profession.
Following Principal’s interaction, a motivational session was conducted by a very experienced and renowned Pharmacist, Director, Krupanidhi Centre for Pharmaceutical Professional Advancement, Dr. Prakash V Mallya. As an experienced professional from the field of Medicine, Dr. Mallya, motivated the students and enlightened them about some practically useful measures towards a successful health professional.
On the last day, students were addressed by all the faculties acquainting them towards the various subjects and the curriculum they will be studying in the next 4 coming years. A short ice- breaking session was also organised to relax and rejuvenate the freshers.
