Guest Lecture on MACHINE LEARNING
29 Jul 2019

“Computers are able to see, hear and learn. Welcome to the future”. – Dave Waters Machine learning is an application of artificial intelligence (AI) that provides systems the ability to automatically learn and improve from experience without being explicitly programmed. A guest lecture on “Machine Learning” was held on 29th July 2019. The Guest lecture has been organized by the department of BCA to provide the students with an opportunity to get a head start in Machine Learning which is an emerging application in the field of Artificial Intelligence. The speaker Prof. Sailaja is a professor in computer science department at St. Francis de sales college. The guest speaker began with an introduction on machine learning. To give a clear idea guest speaker played a video about the machines. Following which, Mrs.Sailaja shed light on the usage of Machine learning. Mrs. Sailaja explored the applications of Machine learning in virtual personal assistants, video surveillance, social media services, E-Mail spam and malware filtering, Online customer support, Products recommendations, Online fraud detection. Followed by madam elucidated the algorithms of supervised machine learning and differentiated between supervised and unsupervised learning. Ultimately madam explained Naïve base classifier with a case study. The outcome of the guest lecture was to bring out the advanced Concept of Machine Learning Techniques. It was an extremely informative and an interactive session where students acquired knowledge on trending application of Artificial Intelligence.
