The women’s Cell of Krupanidhi College of Physiotherapy organized an awareness program “GENDER STEREOTYPES AND SUBCONSCIOUS BIASES” on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2023 on 7th March 2023.

The program was conducted in association with Durga India (An NGO working towards women upliftment).

It was a one-day program with 400 participants. The students of BPT and MPT were all agog to attend the awareness program. The students were split into four batches and two parallel sessions were held during the morning and the afternoon session.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Sudhan S G, Principal Krupanidhi College of Physiotherapy. Following which the Resource person Ms. Tomcy gave a brief introduction about the awareness program planned for the day. The morning session began at 11:30 am wherein the participants were engaged in many thought-provoking discussions and activities involving the much-overlooked aspect of Subconscious gender biases. It was a two-hour session where students participated in various role plays in scenes of daily life. Post lunch the afternoon session started at 2 pm with the same activities for a different set of students.

The Valedictory Ceremony was graced by our Chief Guest Mrs. Geetha Nagpal, Vice-Chairperson KGI, Bangalore who felicitated the Resource persons- Ms. Tomcy, Assistant Program Coordinator and Mr. Kevin, Youth Engagement Officer, Durga India. Mrs. Geetha Nagpal addressed the gathering explaining the changing role of women in the modern world and the challenges the women face in todays’ world. The day long program was an eye opener for the participants and rose a stream of excitement and enlightenment amongst the participants wherein they requested for more such sessions to be organized by the Women cell of Krupanidhi College of Physiotherapy.
